The Role:

This role sits within our Credit Risk team and will focus on leading the development and implementation of best-in-class credit models for SME and Real Estate lending.

We are looking for an experienced candidate with extensive credit modelling and project management skills in developing and implementing a full suite of credit models. 

Principal Responsibilities:

• PD LGD models – Leading the development and implementation of OakNorth Bank SME & Real Estate PD, LGD models (using standardized approach / IFRS 9 compliant), applying advanced modeling approaches to deliver best-in-class results
• IFRS 9 Provisioning modelling – Enhance IFRS 9 provision process with a focus on reducing run time and implementing a high degree of automation. Ability to review & challenge modelling assumptions and outputs in line with IFRS 9 requirements
• Hands-on coding language experience in any language – R/SAS/Python/Matlab/Stata/VBA; Expert in Excel
• Lead on stress testing process – leading ICAAP and periodic stress testing, developing robust methodology and process with a high degree of automation
• Ongoing model management including monitoring for efficacy and calibration of the bank’s portfolio
• Ability to clearly communicate model methodologies, both verbally and written, to senior stakeholders within the Bank and externally to the regulator and external audit
• Ability to lead and deliver in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on efficiency and best-in-class results

Attributes:

• Experience in statistical model validation and performance testing
• Knowledge of model risk governance framework, Model Risk Management principles, etc.
• Ability to clearly communicate model methodologies, both verbally and written, to senior stakeholders within the Bank and externally to the regulator and external audit
• +10 years experience in credit risk modelling
• Modelling and capital management within credit risk, preferably SME & Real Estate lending
• Advanced range of statistical modelling and programming techniques
• Track record of successfully designing & implementing credit models (IFRS 9, PD / LGD, and stress testing)
• Full knowledge of regulatory requirements for PD LGD models, IFRS 9, and ICAAP stress testing
