Your Team

This role will sit in the second line of defence and report to the Head of Risk. An understanding of IT and Security risk are essential for the role. An in-depth understanding of expectations under the EBA and UK standards and guidelines for financial institutions and the payments industry is necessary.

The Role

• Working with cross-functional teams globally, to detect and respond to security events.
• Establishing, implementing, reviewing, and improving the set of controls to protect our client’s information and assets.
• Contributing efforts to further improve our robust security protocols.
• Conducting research and investigations to validate security event claims ranging from identity theft, impersonation scams, unauthorized account access, compromised credentials, etc.
• Handle incoming incidents through monitoring and analyses of security tooling, from a second-line perspective.
• Respond to a variety of security incidents using different platforms and tools, working with first-line staff to remediate and mitigate the risk.
• Constantly evolve the pre-existing security controls, creating and developing custom use cases.
• Creation and maintenance of metrics in a security context.
• Recommend preventative technology measures to reduce security risks.

Your Story

We are looking for individuals with a strategic analytical mindset and a vision for the future, as well as someone who has a strong presence in communication to develop partnerships. Successful candidates should possess the below profile: 

• Come from a background whereby you understand regulation and compliance in the finance world.
• Good knowledge of security monitoring tools.
• Direct experience working within a SOC environment.
• Be familiar with a Cloud setup and infrastructure.
• Be an ‘all-rounder’ from a security perspective with a good understanding of the implications and impact of cyber security and cyber-attacks.
• Experience in at least one: Risk and Control Self-Assessment, Business Continuity Plan, and Disaster Recovery plan.
