The Role

Our aim is to become the home of pet health and wellness and become an indispensable part of pet parents’ and their pets’ lives.  Since our inception, our customer acquisition strategy has focused on paid media channels – and it’s clear that we could be growing our organic performance to match this success to better reflect the scale of our current business.

Until April 2022, we were known under two brand names: Bought By Many (in the UK) and ManyPets (in the USA and Sweden).  In 2022 we united all our business under the ManyPets brand name and all websites under the ManyPets.com domain.  Our online presence and websites are a core part of our customer experience, acting as an acquisition channel and a means for communicating with our current members, and a repository of information for prospects. 

We’re looking to hire someone who will be focused on “step-changing” our SEO performance on a global scale.  In this role you’ll be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing our overall SEO strategy.   We’re looking for someone who can discover and deliver actionable SEO insight and take the helm on our approach to web marketing, web analytics, content strategy planning, link building, and keyword strategy.

Your Focus

• Collaborate with the teams across Brand and Marketing, UX Design, Product, Engineering, and other internal stakeholders to understand our needs and define requirements.
• Develop and execute successful SEO strategies by discovering keyword and topic opportunities – paying attention to relevance to our local markets.
• Discover and oversee the delivery of actionable SEO insight with our cross-functional teams consisting of Product Managers, UX Designers, Engineers, and third-party agency consultants.
• Work closely with our third-party agencies to support and lead organic link acquisition (e.g. link-building) while aligning to their technical and on-page recommendations.
• Proactively manage the relationships with SEO agencies with appropriate measurability and tracking to drive performance, whether run from the group or run from markets.
• Partner closely with Engineering, Product, and Design (“EPD”) to identify experiments on our global website to improve SEO performance.
• Share UX suggestions, review technical SEO issues – and recommend fixes as needed.
• Plan, execute, and measure initiatives to optimise our sites (removing low-quality content) across website content, landing pages, and paid search copy.
• Collaborate with our Content team to support the content marketing strategy which ensures the production of high-quality content.
• Conduct keyword research to guide and support our Content team.
• Partner with the Social Media and PPC teams to optimise our campaigns.
• Analyse large datasets derived from multiple sources (e.g. keyword data, web crawls, web analytics, etc.) and identify opportunities to improve our user experience and SEO performance.
• Build clear and accessible reporting dashboards in partnership with our Data team to monitor and effectively communicate the performance of SEO initiatives.
• Keep abreast of SEO and integrated marketing trends, sharing relevant learnings and trends with the wider EPD and Brand and Marketing teams.
• Build business cases for future product enhancements by conducting market sizing, competitive benchmarking, and user behaviour analyses.

What We’re Looking For

• You’ll have a few years of experience within data analytics or e-commerce (ideally direct-to-consumer), and you’ll be capable of managing a domain with sites in multiple countries.
• You have a solid understanding of how search engines work and how this knowledge can be leveraged to provide value.
• You’re proficient with SEO tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEMRush and you understand terms like “nofollow”, “canonical”, “hreflang” and “conflict”.
• You bring advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically within Excel.
• You’re a compelling presenter with clear written and verbal communication. You’ll know how to present and summarise information to diverse audiences in a remote-first world.
• You’re looking for a role with autonomy and the ability to craft and execute against a strategy – seeing things right through to completion.
• Ideally, you’ll have some experience working in a scale-up business like ours. Things move very quickly here, and it’ll set you up for success if you’ve done this before.

Hybrid-Working

Everything changed overnight when the pandemic happened.
