The Role

We’re looking for an experienced engineering professional in a Systems Test role, as part of the Systems Verification team based in Cambridge. This role will facilitate our organisational objective to make minimal access surgery available to all.

Responsibilities

Every day will be different, but your responsibilities will include:

• Definition and execution of test protocols from system, user and risk related requirements
• Creation of bespoke test environments and rigs (software, hardware or combination of both)
• Contributing to the overall compliance of the system, and identification of gaps (including documentation)
• Understanding system level behaviour and ensuring this is fully verified and documented
• Monitoring and reporting test progress to the Task Manager
• Developing process improvements to streamline test activities

About you

You’ll have previous experience in a Systems Test role, with a practical knowledge of testing complex end to end systems in a regulated industry (automotive, medical, aerospace). We would also expect you to have an inquisitive nature, high attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills and an innate drive to ‘get things done’.

In addition, you should have a strong degree in a relevant engineering or technical discipline, pertinent industry experience and:

• Experience of planning and executing tests from requirements (core and derived)
• Experience of defining and creating system test solutions incorporating software, electronics and mechanics
• Experience of scripting languages such as Python and Matlab
• Exposure to Device Risk Management
• A good degree (at least 2.1), or equivalent in Engineering, Physics or other technical discipline

In addition, any experience of the following would be advantageous:

• Robotics
• Verification of Medical Devices
• Working in an Agile environment
• Awareness of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
• Familiarity with medical devices standards and certification (FDA / CE)
• Experience of delivering products in a regulated market
• Familiarity with Requirement Management tools
• Experience with HAST/HALT and environmental testing an advantage
